From Renee - I have pondered how to put into words all that I want to say to all of you. First, thank you for praying for Joel and I throughout the years we have served together in this ministry, for your faithful giving so we could GO!, for your encouragement during Joel’s illness, for everything you have poured into us. I am, and will always be, grateful to God for all that He has done through Joel and I and what God will continue to do through this ministry. Joel’s passion has become my passion. We are sorrowful yet rejoicing in where Joel is with his new body and no more pain. His leadership and prayer life are being missed already, especially how well he led me. I love you all and will continue to press on towards the goal that He has called me to. As we begin a new season without Joel, the kids and myself remain focused on the Great Commission…wherever we are, we will share Jesus to the Least of These, of which we are chief. For His Glory -Renee Zahn
On August 2nd Joel, FPMs Executive Director and President, passed away of heart failure as his family attempted to move him from home to the hospital. He had a severe break in his heel a week prior to his death that contributed to him being bedridden completely. As a ministry we are deeply saddened as he led well, his passion to reach those incarcerated and have them set free by Jesus Christ, amazing.
Joel taught many Bible studies at different facilities, leading many men to Christ and baptizing them, until 2014. He loved sharing Jesus with all people. He then began transitioning men out of prison.
His last article remains in this newsletter as we found it fitting, his words to you, to us. We found few pictures of Joel but many of the countless volunteers who served alongside him. Thank You All.

From the Heart of the President: - LIFE LESSONS LEARNED - My first lesson learned is from Psalm 23, that He MAKES me lie down in green pastures. A lesson I would NOT have chosen for myself. Even in the stillness of knowing that He is God, He has broken down my stubborn pride in allowing others to take care of me. So what I would advise others is to not try this at home. I have learned a lot about humility. I am ready to get out of the house and get back to teaching studies. My foot, though not completely healed, is better. I am ready to continue to fight the good fight. Thank you all for praying for me during this time. It has been through God that I am being healed, not only physically, but spiritually as well. Normal kidney GFR is 90-120. Mine are at 27. BUT I AM NOT ON DIALYSIS. The lesson in dialysis was a very lonely, hopeless place. In that unit, I told God that I do not belong here. He told me to look at His servant Joseph - through all he endured, Joseph was always right where he was supposed to be. And friends, that is where I am - exactly where God wants me to be.-Joel
